Edward Prewitt comes to Gleanster with more than 20 years of experience as an editor, writer and research analyst. For 6 years, Prewitt served as executive editor of CIO magazine, published by IDG and averaging 140 pages with a circulation of 140,000. There he wrote and edited cover stories on the CIO role, process methodologies, budget agility and outsourcing research.
Prewitt spearheaded the research-based “State of the CIO” report series, which was later established as the annual kickoff issue to set the reader agenda. Since leaving CIO in 2006, Prewitt has served as a research consultant, working with such clients as Microsoft, McKinsey’s business technology group and the CIO Executive Council, as well as a research and editorial director for a management consulting firm. Prior to his role at CIO, Prewitt served as a consultant and public policy expert at Environmental Health & Engineering, a research fellow at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, a research associate at Harvard Business School and a reporter for Fortune magazine. Prewitt earned a master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard University, Harvard Kennedy School, and a bachelor’s degree from Duke University. He lives with his family in Concord, Massachusetts.
